HALLOWEEN: PRIMEVIL 2017

When October comes along there is no doubt that I will be getting evermore excited with the counting days up until Halloween; and to me it isn't Halloween or October without an obligatory trip to Primevil. Primevil is a live action horror event that runs throughout October every year so yes, whilst everyone else is relaxing on the sofa watching their favourite horror's I am the mug that is living it, oh dear.

Primevil boasts incredible food every year (including vegetarian options which sings to my meat-free heart!!!) undoubtedly talented live actors to scare the life out each guest (if the attractions weren't enough) and five terrifying horror mazes guaranteed to leave you shaking.

With something new to experience each year it is without a doubt one of Norfolk's events of the year and this alongside the passion of all staff involved and the creators/directors keeps me wanting more each and every year.

This year the horror mazes of choice were Forest of Fear, Carnevil of Terrors, Mayhem Manor Hotel, The Crypt and Infected; all as awful and chilling as they sound.

Forest of Fear felt more aimed at the faint hearted of visitors and consisted of a 5-10 minute walk through woodland with several actors spaced out to scare you along the way. We found this one the easiest and least frightening so was definitely good for calming us down after the horrors of the other mazes.

Carnevil of Terror consisted of a crazed group of maniac clowns that had been retired from the public and instead focus on terrorising anyone who dares enter its walls. This one was definitely not for the faint hearted and I was TERRIFIED. Complete with a mechanical clown that flies out of the wall, a bridge that gives you vertigo because of the moving walls and a whole host of crazy clowns it's impossible to not be petrified; I even ran the last 2 minutes to escape a clown with a chainsaw and a horrifying melted face who was hellbent on scaring me.

Mayhem Manor Hotel was also another less terrifying one, although the young girl that dived from under the bed scared the shit out of us and unfortunately got an accidental boot to the boob from our friend (sorry!).

Infected honestly felt like being in a nightclub with the booming music and the horrific strobe lighting so we opted for dancing our way through and that technique really worked for us.

The most terrifying for us was The Crypt and me alongside the other girls felt so uneasy about this one all night. Suffering from claustrophobia and panic attacks I knew this wasn't going to be good for me but I wanted to push myself either way but my god it was awful. Crawling around in the complete darkness, trying to climb hurdles and squeeze yourself through tiny gaps in silence was my worst nightmare and induced some panic and tears from my friends...

I am yet to leave Primevil without having the best time and I don't see this happening anytime soon; I can't wait to book again for next year and see what new horror's await...

Love,
